'The Future of Iran'

A Study of Social, Economic and Political Issues and Asylum Seeking By Iranians

9, 10 and 11 February 2001

The conference aims to bring together different experts, charities and organisations to share opinions and experiences as well as formulating recommendations to be promoted on an international level

The Association of Iranian Researchers would like to announce its thirty third conference under the above title.

Friday 9 Feb 2001 - The first day of the conference will concentrate on Iranian asylum seekers in particular of the young generation, which in recent months has become an acute problem for Iran today. The panel will consist of representatives from the British Refugee Council, United Nations High Commission for Refugees, a firm of Asylum Law Practitioners and Iranian Research and Advice Centre. This Centre will present the initial findings of a research on the lives of asylum seekers and the process of asylum seeking in Britain.

Saturday 10, Sunday 11 Feb 2001 - The second and third days of the conference will concentrate on social, economic and political issues of Iran today and its future. International experts on socio-economics and socio-politics are gathering to discuss the present situation in Iran. As always the end of each day will host an open discussion between the panel of experts and the audience.

Association of Iranian Researchers is made up by a group of Iranian experts worldwide with different points of view, expertise and the unifying aim of creating a positive future for Iran.

It has organised thirty two international conferences in the last eight years, maintains an impartial and an unprejudiced approach to all its activities, and respects all schools of thought.
